October: A Month of Pillows

My one monthly goal for October was to sew a quilted pillow cover from four Maple Leaf quilt blocks. It was a simple project that turned out so well, but I can’t do a full reveal yet because the Fat Quarter Shop pattern reveal has been postponed. So here’s a little sneak peek to show you a bit of each block and the crosshatch quilting.

I made a simple envelope back from one of the toffee-colored prints, and it definitely gives the pillow a bit of that classic and vintage vibe. If you haven’t made a pillow cover before, I wrote a tutorial for Hunker, and it’s easy-peasy.

This month I also pieced a Swoon pillow cover from wool and stitched a plain velvet pillow cover. I think the cool fall weather has me thinking about naps on a soft pillow, snuggled under a quilt. Ah… I hope you can indulge in a little nap too if you enjoy a little hibernation like me.

Joyfully,
