Pineapple Farm Pillows

Elizabeth Hartman designed the wonderful Pineapple Farm pattern that includes three sizes of quilts (nap, lap, and picnic) and a 20″ square pillow. My August goal is to make two pillows for my neighbor, and she wants them before she moves to Atlanta. Thankfully I finished the pillows and delivered them as the moving team was packing up her house on Wednesday.

There are a lot of small pieces in each pineapple, so I carefully organized them on top of a piece of batting and labeled everything with sticky notes. The instructions are very thorough, so the process is clear even though it was not speedy. I inserted IKEA feather pillows, and I love the huggable feel!

It worked well to make two identical pillows. In fact, I considered making another one out of different fabrics for myself, but that would have been too complicated to manage in my limited space. Some day I’ll make another pillow because I have all the necessary fabrics, which are leftovers from my Pineapple Punch quilt (Kate Spain’s Bungalow line).

Camp Oda May

For now I plan to return to Camp Oda May and continue with my Choose Your Own Adventure Quilt. Below is a photo of my progress so far. This is such a fun project to work on simultaneously with the other “campers.”

I’ve enjoyed having this project as a part of my summer fun and look forward to completing it soon. The “closing ceremony” at Camp Oda May is next week, and I’ll be sad for it to come to an end. However, one of the chefs at the Moda Bakeshop said there will be another quilt along from December 1st through the 25th (a block a day). Based on my experience with this quilt, I’m likely to join in.

What have you made this summer? If not a pillow or a quilt, maybe something fun in the kitchen? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below.

Joyfully,

Tracie
