Due North: Jolly Bar Row Along

Welcome to the Fat Quarter Shop’s Jolly Bar Row Along week 5 when we sew three Due North quilt blocks. To sew along you’ll need a copy of the new Jolly Bar Book Vol. 2 from the Fat Quarter Shop and weekly instructions found at the Jolly Jabber blog. In case you missed it, you’ll find all the information to start your quilt at the Jolly Jabber kick-off post. This is a beginner-friendly quilt, so there’s still time to join in on the sew-along and finish with us!

The Due North blocks look great in small to medium-scale prints. This week I didn’t make any changes but rather enjoyed the simple sewing. Next week we’ll stitch the Blissful Kisses blocks to complete this row. And all the blocks will be done!

I can’t wait to show you more. Here’s a little teaser below! I have such a fun backing and binding set aside too. This is going to be a fun addition to my home.

Are You Sewing Along with a Layer Cake?

If you’ve been sewing along with me since the beginning, you’ll recall that I’m using a layer cake. The extra fabric is not waste! The remaining fabrics are the seeds for another project. And I plan to add a few Catalina houses to my Village quilt. (I shared some progress way back in April on my Instagram account.) Here’s the first house from my remaining Catalina pieces, plus a girl from Heather Ross’s Kinder line.

Have fun sewing this week! I’ll be scanning the hashtag #jollybarrowalong to look for your posts.

Joyfully,

Tracie

P.S. If you missed my previous posts, I already sewed 12 Sparrow Tracks blocks, 5 Spinning Spools blocks, 2 Migration blocks, and 2 Crushing on You blocks.
