Bloggers’ Quilt Festival
Welcome to Riceford Streams! Today I’m joining Amy Ellis’s Fall 2018 edition of her quilt festival, which is an opportunity to gain inspiration from other quilters.
My favorite quilt finish so far this year is Pineapple Punch, made from the Fat Quarter Shop’s Fat Quarter Snowballs pattern and fabrics from Kate Spain’s Bungalow line, which includes some fabulous pineapple prints.
I usually do my own basic machine quilting, but this time I treated myself and asked Nancy to quilt it for me on her long arm machine.
As soon as I stitched on the binding, I washed and dried the quilt so I could enjoy the beautiful texture.
I backed the quilt with a solid white fabric to give the reverse side its own charm.
I love simple quilt designs that showcase the fabrics.
In the original blog post I shared a few construction tips that helped me improve my piecing accuracy. And I wrote a follow-up post to describe the quilting.
I hope you enjoy the Fall 2018 Quilt Festival! I’m going out for a pumpkin spice latte with my daughter to celebrate the official start to fall. I hope you’re also sipping something fabulous as you enjoy viewing the rest of the quilts.
Joyfully,
Tracie
