Summer Crush

This summer my camp crush is on the Arrowhead Lake quilt block. Just take a look! See what I mean?

So far at Camp Oda May, I completed the center medallion (Star Valley), round 1 (Creek Crossing with Tulip corners), and round 2 (Pinwheel Point with Star View corners). Now I’m working on round 3 (Arrowhead Lake); I stitched four arrowhead blocks and have sixteen more to go.

My progress is slow; yet, slow and steady wins the race, right? Or, in my case, finishes the race. (Doesn’t every camp have some kind of race? I was always one of the slow kids.) I have most of my arrowhead pieces cut out except for the remaining background fabric. Aren’t the colors cheerful? I love Lella Boutique’s Nest fabric line.

The camp counselors provided final instructions for completing the Choose Your Own Adventure Quilt and even had a closing ceremony of sorts: instructions for completing a commemorative label for the quilt back. Pretty cool, huh?

I have many hours of sewing ahead of me before I’m ready for this step, but I’m not in a hurry. Summer is short in the Bold North, so I’m also taking time to kayak with my husband, enjoy the open road in our Jeep, and walk our dog around the neighborhood lake.

Joyfully,

Tracie
