Front Runner Made from Vintage Feed Sacks
I joined the Front Runner quilt along on Saturday morning hosted by the staff of Quilts and More magazine. Everything fell into place for me to join in: cool weather, no plans, and a clean sewing room. To make the table runner I used two vintage feed sacks, one of my dad’s old denim shirts, and muslin for the background.

I quickly cut out all the pieces and finished my blocks by Saturday evening. Today I layered the runner, cotton batting, and chambray backing. After a lot of deliberation, I decided to quilt a 60-degree crosshatch pattern with Aurifil 2000 thread. I bound the runner with the same chambray fabric I used on the back. Now I’m ready to serve up some summer fun!

Joyfully,
